ONE PIECE Who is Joyboy? Power of Gear 5!

Who is Joyboy?

He was first referenced when robin read about joyboy and his connection to Fishman Islan on a poneglyph( blocks of stones that hold incredible importance in the world of One Piece) during Fishmen storyline.

Joy Boy was friends with the princess of the merpeople at the time, Poseidon, and had a close connection to the merpeople. He participated in the creation of Noah and made a promise to Poseidon to return the Merfolk to land. But for unknown reasons, he was unable to maintain his word and lived the rest of his life regretting it.

Joy Boy’s role as the person who abandoned the One Piece on Laugh Tale has kept him relevant for the entire time.

Without a doubt, his existence is crucial to understanding what took place during the Void Century. Though there isn’t much information available on him, there are many theories which make him even more interesting and mysterious. The most relevant theories are as follows:

1)Joy Boy- A “Title or a Name”

It was widely believed that Joy Boy was the name of a character who lived during the Void Century( century which history was erased by world government) after the character’s first appearance in the series, which may be accurate. However, a theory that has gained popularity recently appears to have a large following. This theory is based on 2 events.

He grinned when Gold D. Roger was put to death. Similarly, Luffy also grinned broadly when he believed he was going to die on the same platform.

The “Joy Boy” moniker or title refers to the carriers of the “D” Clan’s will because they never stop laughing, even when they face certain death.

2)Joy Boy Reincarnation Theory

It was mentioned in Oden’s flashback that Joy Boy will visit Wano and rock the world to its very core.

That moment is now, as many had predicted, and it is implied that Joy Boy has already given birth again somewhere in the world. The prominent possibility among those who fit this time period is Luffy.

Moreover, Oden’s assertion that Joy Boy was scheduled to visit Wano when its gates were opened makes this argument highly unlikely to be true.

3)Joy Boy is Based on the Javanese King Joyoboyo

In One Piece, Oda frequently references historical stories and incidents, whether in character names or the story’s premise. One theory uncovers probable proof that the name Joy Boy was influenced by and based on the Javanese King Joyoboyo from more than 870 years ago.

Java, an Indonesian island, had its golden period between 1130 and 1160 AD, or 800-900 years ago, under the rule of Joyoboyo. This bears similarities to the 800-year-old Void Century from One Piece.

Now, Joyoboyo was renowned for foretelling his kingdom’s destruction at the hands of outsiders and foreseeing a moment when it would once more be great.

Three epigraphs from the Hindu epic Mahabharata—which described a major conflict between the Pandavs and Kauravas—were left behind by the Javanese monarchy after their conquest. This reminds me a lot of the poneglyphs the Great Kingdom used to transmit important knowledge before they were overthrown.

We can deduce two things from the fact that Joy Boy is thought to have been modeled after Joyoboyo. The first is the likelihood that Joy Boy was the ruler of the Great Kingdom. He asked the Kozuki clan to construct and engrave poneglyphs and foretold its destruction at the hands of the Ancient Alliance.

The second inference is connected to a different prediction made by Joyoboyo. The king predicted that Ratu Adil—a person who will impose world peace and justice—would manifest shortly.

According to this, the Revolutionaries or Luffy may be the Ratu Adil of One Piece, a person who will bring the world together. This theory makes a lot more sense than other theories.

Power of Gear 5

Luffy Gear 5 is the strongest power in ONE PIECE anime so far. As he can become the Sun God Nika when wearing Gear 5, making his devil fruit the most potent one ever, he can currently accomplish anything with his devil fruit powers.

The Hito Hito no Mi (Human-Human Fruit), Model: Nika, is another name for the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which was described during the gathering of the Five Elders. The Gomu Gomu no Mi was formerly referred to as a Paramecia type. Nika is a Mythical Zoan kind who has awakened, according to the Hito Hito no Mi Model. Nika is the name of the Sun God, as has already been mentioned in the series. According to legend, he will relieve the slaves of their pain.

Luffy’s rubber body characteristics are improved by Gear 5, which makes him stronger and gives him greater fighting freedom. As demonstrated when he bent a chunk of the earth and used it as a shield to block Kaido’s Bolo (Blast) Breath, he can now turn things around him into rubber in addition to possessing a rubber body. The Drums of Liberation are the beat that Zunesha refers to as Luffy’s heartbeat, which also alters. Therefore, the person who consumes this Devil Fruit is also referred to as the Warrior of Liberation.

While in Gear 5, Luffy can also improve the other Gears. An illustration is Luffy’s transformation into a real giant in Gomu Gomu no Gigant (Gum-Gum Giant). This reminds me of Gear 3. Other moves are variations of his earlier moves in the other Gears.
